The water fire extinguishers are intended for burning Cat. A substances such as paper, cardboard, plastic etc.

The powder fire extinguishers will also deal with paper etc. as well as Cat. B substances such as gasolene, oil, paints etc.

The CO2 fire extinguishers can be used on Cat. B fires but are principally designed to be used on Cat. C electrical fires.
