When walking the Air Tech Crampons give you 10 secure contacts with the snow, and using a pair of shorter and wider spaced points, traverses enable all 12 spikes to bite into the snow.
To keep up with the modern demand for a mixed climbing crampon, the Air Tech Crampons perform well in both ice and rock. Semi-rigid and available in a one size fits all, the Air Tech Crampons are available with one of three binding systems:
Cramp-O-Matic – suited to plastic mountaineering boots with a rigid sole and substantial toe and heel welts. A nylon speed lever at the rear secures the boot, and a fixed stainless steel front bale prevents total loss of the crampon should they be forced from the boot.
New-Matic – using the same rear bale as the C-O-M, the New-Matic system offers more versatility and can be worn with overboots, or where the front welts are shallow and worn. The plastic harness system is hinged from the front posts to create a simple, secure, yet comfortable binding.
New Classic – a take on the classic binding, using a plastic harness hinged from retention posts, opened to accept the boot, then closed to keep it securely in place. A single strap closure makes it perfect for rentals or first time users.
